VF AzerCredit Received MFC and Smart Campaign Good Practice Award

10 persons from VF AzerCredit attended MFC Conference 2012 held in Tbilisi, Georgia from 28 to 30 May 2012.

This year`s Conference, being titled Business or Development? Time to Choose, aimed at laying the foundation of a new intellectual agenda around the real choice that microfinance practitioners need to make: is microfinance business or development? Thus, a variety of stakeholders added their perspective on the critical issues facing the industry today. More thorough information on the Conference may be obtained from

For this year`s Conference MFC in cooperation with Smart Campaign had organized the Good Practice Award. Recognizing Client Protection Efforts to promote 7 Client Protection Principles and recognize those microfinance providers in the region of Europe and Central Asia which have developed good practices in at least one of the 7 principles. Among 3 organizations that received the Award this year was VF AzerCredit as well. The Award was conferred on VF AzerCredit for the successful establishment of Mechanisms for Complaint Resolution throughout the organization.

Moreover, the Platinum Award previously bestowed by Michael & Susan Dell Foundation, Ford Foundation, CGAP and MIX for VF AzerCredit`s strong commitment to transparent social performance reporting and management was presented at the Conference.

VF AzerCredit also delivered 2 presentations at the Conference on:
  1. Benefits of Gender Mainstreaming Project at the session of "Microfinance Plus vs. the Minimalist Approach: Which is Better for Clients?" The message of the session was that a microfinance organization striving to create value for clients should offer a range of adapted financial and non-financial services to meet specific development needs of clients. At the session VF AzerCredit shared its experience with the participants on women empowerment and the Gender Mainstreaming into Microfinance Project jointly implemented together with MFC, AMFA and Oxfam Novib.
  2. Complaint Resolution Mechanisms at the session of "Client Protection: Best Tools and Practices. Upcoming Certification of MFIs". Another key goal of the Conference was to emphasize the importance of the upcoming certification of MFIs on the Smart Campaign Client Protection Principles to be launched in fall 2012. Thus, the details of the certification process were disclosed at the session driving attention to the fact that this would be required by most investors, rating agencies, development organizations, etc. At the session VF AzerCredit presented the tools developed and employed by the organization to address customer complaints. The organization`s rigorous experience in this field was highly appreciated by the listeners as one of the best means to increase customer satisfaction and loyalty.
